NORFOLK, Va. -- The 11th-ranked Old Dominion men's soccer team hosts New Mexico in a key Conference USA matchup on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.

"This is a big game for us," said head coach Alan Dawson. "Hopefully, we have a big crowd here. We're doing a promotion to try and get as many folks out here as possible. This is a real showdown for us."

The promotion is the first annual "Pups on the Pitch" match. Fans can bring their dog on a leash into the stadium and everyone in their party will receive a discounted ticket rate of $3. ODU students with their pets, as always, receive free admission by showing their student ID.

ODU (6-1-1, 2-0-1 C-USA) enters the match on a seven-game unbeaten streak, having not lost since the season-opener against current-No. 4 Coastal Carolina. Over that seven-match span, the Monarchs have tallied a total of 20 goals, giving them one of the nation's top offenses. ODU is currently third in the NCAA in scoring offense with a 2.50 goals per game average.

Nine different players have scored goals for ODU this season. Freshman midfielder Niko Klosterhalfen leads the way with 10 points (4g/2a), while Josue Henriquez (4g), Ryan Condotta (3g/1a), Jesse Miralrio (3g/1a) and Ivan Militar (2g/3a) have also been key contributors.

New Mexico (6-3-1, 0-2-0 C-USA) got off to a hot start this season, posting a 5-1-1 record in its first seven matches and reaching a ranking of No. 7 in the NSCAA Coaches' Poll. However, the Lobos have dropped two of their last three, both of which were to C-USA foes. Midfielder Chris Wehan leads both the team and C-USA in goals so far this season with eight.

The Lobos lead the all-time series, 2-1-0. ODU's lone win came last year, when the Monarchs defeated New Mexico, 2-1, in the quarterfinals of the C-USA Tournament.
