NORFOLK, Va. – World-renowned tennis coach Nick Bollettieri stopped by the Old Dominion women’s tennis practice to meet the staff and players to share his life story with the Lady Tennis Monarchs program at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

Originally from New York, Bollettieri has helped in the development of some of the game’s most elite players, including: Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Martina Hingis and Anna Kournikova.

In 1978, he opened the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy (NBTA) in Florida. Then in 1987, the International Management Group (IMG) bought the academy from Bollettieri; however, Bollettieri continues to play a pivotal role in the development of the tennis academy.
