NORFOLK, Va. -- The No. 13 Old Dominion men's soccer team closes out its non-conference slate on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. matchup at No. 11 USF.
ODU (8-2-2) will be making its third trip to the Sunshine State of the season after previous road trips to Florida Atlantic (W, 2-1 2OT) and FIU (L, 2-1). The Monarchs are coming off of a 1-0-1 week, in which they defeated UNC Wilmington, 1-0, and tied No. 16 Kentucky, 0-0.
Ivan Militar (3g/5a) and Josue Henriquez (5g/1a) lead the team in scoring, Niko Klosterhalfen (4g/2a) has also been a key contributors to an ODU attack that is tied for 18th in the NCAA with a 2.00 goals per game average.
Defensively, the Monarchs have posted three shutouts in their past four matches. Goalkeeper Alex Tiesenhausen has a 0.78 goals against average on the season and a 0.818 save percentage, which ranks 25th in the NCAA and first in C-USA.
USF (10-3-2) is unbeaten in its last six matches (4-0-2) and have yet to lose a match at home (8-0-1). The Bulls currently sit in second place in the American Athletic Conference standings
Nazeem Bartman leads the team in scoring with 17 total points (6g/5a). In net, Spasoje Stefanovic has played every minute and has posted a 0.71 goals against average and seven shutouts.
USF will be the fourth ranked opponent the Monarchs have faced this season. ODU is 1-1-1 in the three previous contests versus ranked foes.
The Monarchs lead the all-time series, 4-1-4, and defeated USF, 1-0, last year in Norfolk behind a goal from Ryan Condotta.
