LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Old Dominion women’s tennis team will be competing throughout the weekend at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships at Liberty in Lynchburg, Va. Tennis action is slated to take place from Thursday to Sunday.
Thursday began with the first two rounds of the qualifying draw. In singles action, ODU’s Ivana Vukovic advanced into the quarterfinal round after posting wins over opponents from Navy and Penn State.
In doubles action, Nikol Hristova and Marijana Novakovic, who enter the ITA Regional after claiming back-to-back doubles titles at the UVA Fall Invite and the Wake Forest Invite, are set to square off with Audrey Ann Blakely and Gabriela Rezendel of Pitt at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Should they advance into the quarterfinal round, they will play again at 4 p.m. Friday. The semifinal round is slated for Saturday 5:30 p.m. with the finals set for Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
In the singles draw, Adriana Rajkovic, Natalia Vlasova, Nikol Hristova, Ingrid Vojcinakova, Marijana Novakovic and Ivana Vukovic all compete in their round of 64 matches Friday afternoon with the round of 32 matches set for Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.
