NORFOLK, Va. – All eyes will turn to Storrs, Conn. on Saturday as No. 11 Old Dominion travels to No. 2 Connecticut in a BIG EAST showdown at noon. Both teams are currently undefeated in conference play, with UConn sitting atop the rankings right above the Lady Monarchs.

After defeating Georgetown, ODU (8-4) played two non-conference contests against top 10 teams before facing the Huskies. The Monarchs bested No. 5 Virginia 3-2 in double-overtime and jumped up four spots in the latest NFHCA Coaches Poll before dropping a 1-0 decision to seventh-ranked Maryland Wednesday.

The Lady Monarchs were held scoreless for the first time since the team lost to the Huskies, 4-0, on Oct. 10 last season. ODU had two strong chances in the final five minutes of the contest to record the equalizer, but were unable to capitalize. Overall, the Lady Monarchs are led by Sarah Breen, who has notched 23 points on 10 goals and three assists. Freshman Kealsie Robles has been the go to keeper in goal for ODU and boasts a 1.65 goals-against average in her rookie season.

Undefeated UConn (13-0) comes into the contest riding a streak of five consecutive shutouts, not conceding a goal since Sept. 25 against then No. 9 Stanford. The team extended its winning streak to 27 games, dating back to the 2014 season, with a 6-0 victory over Drexel on Sunday afternoon. UConn's net-minder Nina Klein had four saves in the outing, posting her fourth-straight and sixth overall solo shutout of the season. Charlotte Veitner led the offense with five goals, bringing her season total to 28. She currently leads the nation with 2.15 goals per game and 5.00 points per game, while ranking 14th in assists per game (0.69).

Old Dominion will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex against Temple for a league contest at noon. The game will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network via the FOX Sports GO app. Originally scheduled for Oct. 2, the game was rescheduled due to weather concerns created by Hurricane Joaquin.
