Women's Soccer Hosts UAB in Rescheduled Match Tues. at 7PM

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (4-9-0, 2-2) returns home to the ODU Soccer Complex Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. to take on C-USA foe UAB (2-9-1, 1-3-1) in a conference showdown that was rescheduled due to inclement weather in the wake of Hurricane Joaquin. The first 100 fans at Tuesday night’s match will receive a free ODU Women’s Soccer t-shirt.

The Lady Monarchs enter the matchup after dropping back-to-back conference home games over the weekend, as ODU fell to Rice 2-0 on Friday night and to North Texas 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. UAB is coming off a 1-1 tie against WKU on Sunday after recording its first Conference USA victory of the season last Friday, as the Blazers defeated Marshall 2-1 (OT).

Old Dominion is led by freshman Iris Achterhof, who has accumulated six goals and an assist so far on the year. Madison Hogan has racked up three goals for the Lady Monarchs, while Kira Laurento, Kathryn Hill and Grace Haverly have each netted one apiece.

Junior goalkeeper Erin Kinz has started every game for ODU this season. She has tallied 43 saves and currently holds a save percentage of .672.

The Blazers are led by Kasey Johnson, who has racked up five goals so far this season. Paige Hanks and Caroline Kehrer have each added two goals apiece for UAB as well.

Goalkeeper Kelsey Daugherty has played in 11 of the Blazers’ 12 matchups, making 57 saves while maintaining a .679 save percentage.
