PORTSMOUTH, VA-- ODU rising senior Ashton Newsom shot 68 to finish 5-under, seven strokes off the lead in a tie for sixth at the 59th Eastern Amateur at the Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club.
James Clark of Georgia Tech, fired a 4-under par 66 to beat Danny Yustin from the University of Hartford and Amherst, NY with a birdie on the second playoff hole to win the Tournament title.
Newsom tied Jacob Solomon of Dublin, CA. for sixth. Newom shot 68-69-68 for a 54-hole total of 205.
