NEWPORT, R.I. - Old Dominion University sailing finished eighth in the semifinals to advance to the Gill Coed National Finals starting Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
The Division A squad of Esteban Forrer and Gabriel Smith earned a fifth place semifinals finish. The duo had eight top-five places with a win in the first race as well as three-straight third place spots at one point.
After a rough first day, the Division B team featuring Augie Dale, Daniel Lochner, Grace Mason and Colin Voigt came back to complete a pair of top-five finishes, including a second place, and top-10 spots in eight of the nine races.
