IRVING, Texas – Former Old Dominion University offensive lineman Josh Mann was named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the NFF announced on Wednesday.
A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Mann started all 12 games at center for ODU in 2014 and recorded 33 career starts. He earned First-Team All-Conference USA accolades and was named to the C-USA All-Academic Team. Mann was one of 817 student-athletes from 278 schools named to the honor society.
Since the organizations inception in 2007 nearly 6,000 student-athletes have been honored with inductions into the honor society. With the 278 schools represented in this year’s class it surpasses the previous record of 267 schools set last year. The 817 athletes are the second most inducted behind the 2014 class of 838 honorees.
In order to qualify for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society students must meet three requirements. They must be a starter or a significant contributor in their last year of eligibility (or a senior who has declared for the NFL Draft) at an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III or an NAIA college or university. They must also achieve a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study and lastly they must meet all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements.
