NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s basketball player Maia Lee has indicated her intention to transfer to Towson to be closer to her ailing father, head coach Karen Barefoot announced on Monday afternoon. Lee just completed her freshman season with the Lady Monarchs.
Barefoot said, “Her dad is sick. A couple of times in the past year she got very emotional. It’s hard not having your support system around. She’s a great kid and we wish her the best.”
Lee attended McLean High School in northern Virginia and was rated a 3-star recruit (the nation’s 21st-best power forward) by ESPN, following her senior season.
