HOUSTON, Texas – The No. 66 nationally ranked and No. 3 seeded Old Dominion women’s tennis team (16-6) feel in the 2015 Conference USA Semifinals via a 4-3 heartbreaker to No. 60 nationally ranked and No. 2 seeded Marshall (16-7) on Saturday afternoon in Houston, Texas.
The Thundering Herd took two out of three doubles matches to claim an early 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
Adriana Rajkovic came up big for the Lady Tennis Monarchs against Marshall’s Kai Broomfield, as Rajkovic won in straight sets (6-3, 6-1), giving ODU its first team point of the match.
ODU’s Marijana Novakovic tied the team score at 2-2, when she downed Marshall’s Maddie Silver (6-3, 6-2).
Ivana Vukovic proved to be clutch yet again, this time on Court No. 5, where she defeated Marshall’s Marija Bogicevic in straight sets (6-2, 6-0), tying the match up one final time (3-3), before eventually falling 4-3 to the Thundering Herd on Saturday afternoon.
