NORFOLK, Va. - A total of 261 student athletes from all of Old Dominion University’s athletic teams, the highest number of any league member,  have earned recognition to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll during the 2014-15 academic year, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced today. Student-athletes named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.  ODU’s total represents 52% of its total number of student athletes and marks the second year in a row that ODU placed the highest number of total athletes on the honor roll.  In all, 2,598 total student-athletes were named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll from the 14 C-USA member institutions. 

Rice placed the highest number of student-athletes on the honor roll, producing 246 members who participate in league-sponsored sports. Charlotte followed with 194, while UAB ranked third with 184 conference student-athletes on the list, while ODU had 143 that competed on C-USA sports. 

Student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better also receive the Commissioner’s Academic Medal. Those winners will be released tomorrow.
