NORFOLK, Va. – Former Lady Monarch standout Tia Lewis (’12) has been named the head women’s basketball coach at Denbigh High School in Newport News, Va.

Lewis transferred to Old Dominion after playing her first season at UCF. As a redshirt sophomore, Lewis led the team in scoring and rebounding and was named to the CAA All-Tournament Team in 2010. As a junior, Lewis was named the team’s MVP and made Third Team All-CAA. As a senior, Lewis made Second Team All-CAA after leading the Lady Monarchs in scoring and rebounding and compiling 11 double-doubles.

When her playing days were over at ODU, Lewis left the school as the 10th all-time leading scoring with 1,624 total points and tied for sixth for career rebounds with 1,124.
