TUCSON, AZ—ODU freshman Maggie Simmermacher (Buenos Aires, Argentina) fired a 75 in the final round to finish with a 54-hole score of 218 and tied for 24th at the MountainView Invite at the Mountain View Golf Club. Junior Charlotte Hindmoor (Darlington, England) shot 74 for the second straight round to finish at 226 and tied for 65th.
Statistically, the Lady Monarchs were sixth in par 3 scoring (3.15/+9), eighth at the event in par 5 scoring (5.10/+6), and total pars with 170.
Ohio State (288-283-285=856) captured the team crown by five strokes over FIU (288-282-291=861), while Meghan MacLaren of FIU won the individual medalist honors (69-69-71=209) by one stroke over Chonlada Chayanun of Iowa State and Anna Appert of Purdue. Simmermacher finished nine strokes back.
The Lady Monarchs return to action in the Atlanta, GA area for the John Kirk Panther Invitational, hosted by Georgia State Mar. 29-31.
