GREENSBORO, N.C. - Rachel Eckert finished in 40th place in the 3-meter dive at the NCAA Championships Friday afternoon to end her sensational career.
Eckert finished with a score of 277.90 and became the first ODU diver to compete in the NCAA Championships. A native of Rochester, N.Y., Eckert holds the school record in both the 1 and 3-meter dive and this year became the first Conference USA diver not from the University of Houston to win both dives at the same championship as she was named C-USA Diver of the Year.
Eckert was a four-time NCAA Zones qualifier and advanced to the NCAA Championships for the first time this year. She took 37th place in the 1-meter dive on Thursday.
