Old Dominion University’s women’s basketball game with Rice on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m., at the Ted Constant Convocation Center, will be played as scheduled, however fans are being encouraged to stay home instead of risking their safety to get to the game.

“Based on the predicted winter weather conditions for tonight and Thursday morning, and for the safety of our fans, we are asking fans who would normally travel to our campus to stay home and listen to the game on the radio, or follow our live video stream,” says ODU Director of Athletics Dr. Wood Selig. “We welcome fans and students who are walking distance from the arena to attend, however ask they make certain they can get safely to and from the game before venturing outside.”

Old Dominion will allow fans to redeem their Rice game tickets for free admission (one per ticket) to the Lady Monarchs’ home finale on Saturday, Feb. 28 vs. North Texas at 1 p.m., or for any 2015-16 regular season women’s game. Admission for Thursday’s game with Rice will be free.

The athletic department also will offer all fans the opportunity to watch the live video stream of Thursday’s game free at http://www.odusports.com//mediaPortal/player.dbml?catid=0&id=1229285&db_oem_id=31100.
