SAN ANTONIO, TX. -- Trey Freeman (Virginia Beach, VA.) scored 19 points and Jonathan Arledge (Silver spring, MD.) added 15, but UTSA rallied in the second half to defeat the Monarchs, 72-67 in a Conference USA nationally televised game. ODU falls to 18-5 overall and 7-4 in C-USA while UTSA is 13-10 overall and 7-5 in C-USA.

Keon Lewis led the Roadrunners with 21 points, including a perfect nine-for-nine from the free throw line. He scored 14 of his points in the second half.

Aaron Bacote (Hampton, VA.)  and Ambrose Mosley (Jacksonville, FL.) each scored nine points on the night for ODU and Richard Ross (Wichita Falls, TX.) added eight.  Sophomore guard Jordan Baker (Hampton, VA.) was the game leader with seven rebounds.

ODU took a 37-30 halftime lead into the locker room led by Arledge with 11 points. The Monarchs shot .457 from the floor and UTSA .444. ODU had only one turnover and was outrebounding the Roadrunners, 22-16.

In the second half, the Monarchs led by as many as 10 on three different ocassions. The last was 44-34 with 14:47 left after a jumper by Freeman. UTSA then went on a 14-4 run and tied the contest at 48-48 on a layup by Ryan Bowie.

The contest was tied four times in the second half, the last at 62-62 after a three-pointer from ODu's Ambrose Mosley (Jacksonville, FL.) with 4:00 left.  UTSA then finished the game with a 10-5 run thanks to four free throws and a basket from Keon Lewis.   

UTSA shot .511 (23-45) from the field and .611 (11-18) in the second half. they also hit 20-of-24 free throws for the game.  ODU finished at .433 (29-67) from the floor and were 8-for-30 from beyond the arc and took only three free throws, making one.

The three free throw attempts by ODU ties a school mark set on feb. 7, 1974 against Randolph-Macon. In that contest ODU was three-for-three from the line. The school record for the fewest made free throws in a game is still 0 (0-7), against W&M on Feb. 16, 2013. 

This was ODU's first loss in 15 games when leading at halftime.ODU travels to UTEP on Saturday for a 9 p.m. ET contest.
