NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University women’s tennis team (3-2) returns home to the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center this weekend for a pair of matches. First on Fri., Feb. 13 at 4:00 p.m., the Lady Tennis Monarchs will welcome Middle Tennessee (6-2), before playing host to Pennsylvania (2-0) on Sun., Feb. 15 at 11:00 a.m. Admission to all home ODU tennis matches is FREE.
Old Dominion has received winning performances from the top through the bottom of its lineup, highlighted by freshman Borislava Botusharova, who is 4-1 and nationally ranked No. 116. Nikol Hristova has started in both the No. 1 and No. 2 slots for Old Dominion, and has compiled a 2-1 record in doing so. Sophomore Marijana Novakovic has gotten off to a blazing start, winning all five of her singles matches, while fellow sophomore Ingrid Vojcinakova is 3-2 while playing in the No. 3 and 4 positions. Ivana Vukovic is 2-2 so far this season and possesses a 3-2 mark in doubles play when playing with teammate Adriana Rajkovic.
On Friday, the Lady Tennis Monarchs will take on Middle Tennessee at 4:00 p.m. MT enters the weekend with a 6-2 overall record and has won three matches in a row. The Blue Raiders are coming off a 7-0 win against UT-Martin.
On Sunday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center, ODU will square-off with undefeated Penn, who enters the weekend with a 2-0 mark. The Quakers are coming off a 4-1 win at FIU. UPenn also claimed victory against Temple, 4-3.
