IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion University offensive linemen Josh Mann and Tyler Compton were named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, the conference office announced on Thursday.
A senior from Virginia Beach, Va., Mann started 35 games at center for the Monarchs as a three-year starter at the position. He helped the Monarchs average more than 30 points per game the last three seasons, as well average 441.9 yards per game this season in ODU’s first season in Conference USA. Mann has earned Dean’s List honors four semesters while at Old Dominion and posts a 3.44 grade point average majoring in mechanical engineering.
A native of Virginia Beach, Va., Compton, a redshirt sophomore, will graduate in December in just two and a half years with a degree in mathematics. Compton holds a 3.97 GPA and in January will begin to pursue his undergraduate degree in finance. Originally a walk-on who has since earned a scholarship, Compton played in all 12 games this season, starting eight on the offensive line, seven at right guard and one at left guard.
