2014-15 LADY MONARCHS
ODU enters Monday night’s matchup with a 2-0 record after taking down Presbyterian by a score of 41-26 last Friday and then defeating William & Mary (65-58) on Monday.

Presbyterian’s 26 points is the fewest points against by an ODU opponent since playing at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. For the game, Presbyterian shot just 22.4% (11-49) from the floor and 5.3% (1-19) from three. Destinee Young was named the Cox Communications Player of the Game after scoring eight points, grabbing seven rebounds, blocking three shots, compiling three steals and dishing out two assists. Jennie Simms led all scorers with 12 points to go along with five rebounds. Redshirt senior Chelisa Painter scored nine points and hauled down eight rebounds.

Against the Tribe, Simms recorded her career high in points (15) and rebounds (10), resulting in her first collegiate double-double of her young career.  Also in double figures for the Lady Monarchs were Chelisa Painter (13 points, eight rebounds), Tiffany Minor (13 points, seven rebounds) and Odegua Oigbokie (11 points, six rebounds). Destinee Young ended the contest with a career high five blocks.

Old Dominion held advantages in rebounds (47-25), assists (16-14), fast break points (10-4) and bench points (22-16).

MEET DUKE
The USA TODAY Sports Top 25 Women’s Basketball Coach’s Poll recently listed Duke as the No. 7 ranked team in the country.

Led by Virginia Beach-native (Princess Anne HS) and three-time All-America Elizabeth Williams, needs 104 blocks to break the Duke and ACC career blocks record held by Alison Bales (434). She also needs 24 blocks to move into a tie for 25th on the NCAA career blocks list.

As head coach Joanne P. McCallie enters her eighth season with the Blue Devils, Coach P features the tallest squad in school history with nine players standing 6-0 or taller and seven players 6-3 or taller.

Duke returns a total of seven letterwinners in 2014-15 and welcomes the No. 2 ranked recruiting class in the nation with the addition of Sierra Calhoun, Erin Mathias, Mercedes Riggs, Azurá Stevens and Lyneé Belton. The Blue Devils also welcome back redshirt freshman Rebecca Greenwell, who sat out last season with a knee injury.
