STATE COLLEGE, PA—ODU freshman Maggie Simmermacher (Buenos Aires, Argentina) fired a Lady Monarch low round of the day of 72 at the 2014 Nittany Lion Invitational at the Penn State Blue Course.
Overall, junior Charlotte Hindmoor (Darlington, England) who was tied for second entering today's final round finished the event tied for 28th after tallying a 54-hole score of 76-71-83 for 230, followed by freshman Katerina Vlasinova (Trebic, Czech Republic) who tied for 32 with a three round score of 80-75-76 for 231. Simmermacher’s 72 helped her tie for 43 with a 54-hole score of 234.
Columbia captured the tournament championship by one stroke over Yale while Kelsey Murphy (77-73-68=218) of Eastern Michigan won the individual medalist honors by one stroke over Monique Ishikawa of Columbia (74-76-69=219).
The Lady Monarchs return to action Oct. 13-15 at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate in Greenville, NC.
