CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Old Dominion women’s soccer and UNC Charlotte went to double overtime Saturday night, resulting in a 2-2 draw in Conference-USA play.

Angie Hind said, "I'm really pleased with how we played tonight. To come back from a goal down twice against a good Charlotte team was impressive. Madison’s second goal was an incredible strike and to score that with 30 seconds left on the clock exemplifies our character tonight. This was a good point."

The 49ers (7-5-2, 4-2-1 C-USA) struck first as Amanda Jones beat an Old Dominion defender and powered a shot to the inside left post for the unassisted goal in the 18th minute.

At the half, Old Dominion led in saves 3-2 while Charlotte led in shots 10-6. Both teams had four corner kicks at the break.

Madison Hogan put the Lady Monarchs (4-7-4, 3-2-2 C-USA) on the board with a third-chance goal following a free kick. Natalie Johnson was credited with an assist on the 59th minute goal.

It looked like Charlotte might secure the win as Jessica Ryan found Martha Thomas with a flick over Old Dominion goalkeeper Erin Kinz’s head at the 83:24 mark. The 49ers couldn’t hold off the Lady Monarchs though, as Hogan found the back of the net for the second time. The redshirt-freshman tied everything up in the final minute of regular play, lining a shot from the top-right of the 18-yard box to the left half of the goal.

Charlotte outshot Old Dominion 6-4 after two extra periods, but neither team could come away with a decisive goal.

Old Dominion held the advantage in corner kicks 6-4, but Charlotte outshot the Lady Monarchs 26-20. Jessie Klamut led the Lady Monarchs offensively with eight shots, followed by Hogan with five shots. Kinz recorded six saves for Old Dominion while Annika McHenry matched her effort with six saves for the 49ers.
