Washington D.C. - The Old Dominion women’s soccer team didn’t allow a goal for over 91 minutes; however, George Washington’s Kyla Ridley struck one minute and 41 seconds into overtime to lift the Colonials over the Lady Monarchs, 1-0, at the GW Soccer Field.

Old Dominion outshot GW 9-7 on Sunday afternoon in the nation’s capital and took more corners than the Colonials, 3-2. ODU’s Erin Kinz played the whole game as keeper and made one save, while George Washington’s Miranda Horn came up with fives saves.

At the half, the Lady Monarchs outshot the Colonials 5-2 before each team fired off four shots in the second half. The sole shot taken in overtime turned out to be the golden goal for Ridley, in which she was able to dribble past the ODU defense before curling the ball inside the left post from the top of the box for the game winner.  The goal was Ridley’s second in as many games.

Old Dominion’s Madison Hogan attempted three shots, while Taylor Smith and Devin Dougherty each took two shots.
