SCOTTSDALE, AZ-- ODU sophomore Seth Sweet (Madison, ME.) and freshman David Langley (Buckinghamshire, England) tied for 26th at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Talking Stick-North course.
Sweet (74-73-67) fired a blistering 67 in the final round to finish at 214 for the 54-hole event tying his teammate David Langley who shot 71 today (73-70-71). The Monarchs shot their best round of the tournament at 283 with Jamison Randall shooting a 73 and Ashton Newsom with a 72.
As a team, the Monarchs tied host Wyoming for 15th place at (295-298-283) 876. Oklahoma (275-285-271=831) won the team title by seven strokes over Brigham Young and Colorado.
Michael Gellerman of Oklahoma (66-70-68=204) won the invidual crown by one stroke over David Oraee (66-71-68=204) of Colorado and Cole Ogden (71-67-67=205) of BYU.
The Monarchs compete in the Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational April 14 and 15.
