WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The ODU Women's Lacrosse team visits the College of William & Mary for the team's final game of the season this Saturday at 1 p.m.

This will also mark the final game where ODU is not a member of a conference. The Lady Monarchs join the Atlantic Sun Conference beginning next spring.

On Wednesday Old Dominion played toe-to-toe with No. 9 Johns Hopkins evening the score at 4-4 following a brilliant first half. Down 4-0 The Lady Monarchs answered quickly with junior midfielder Christina Rea scoring twice along with Jessica Liberty and Connor Carson scoring goals to tie the game at 4-4. ODU managed just one more goal in the second half from Carson as JHU won 14-5.

This season the Lady Monarchs have played in nine games decided by four goals or less. ODU senior defender Kallie McCormick is second on the team with 28 ground balls and 24 draw controls, while senior co-captain Emily Austerberry leads ODU with 28 draw controls, 33 goals and 44 points on 68 shots. Freshman goalkeeper Maggi Buckley stopped 13 shots against No. 9-ranked Johns Hopkins. She is 2-6 this season and has a 13.00 goals against average including a .429 save percentage.

Series Record: ODU Trails 31-12. First meeting began in 1980.

Previous Meeting(s): April 1, 2012- ODU's last trip to Williamsburg ended in a 14-10 victory. The Lady Monarchs received three goals from Lisa Bernardini, Rebecca Reymann and Sarah Wright as ODU scored nine goals in the second half to win.  
Feb. 26, 2013- Old Dominion defeated William & Mary from the L.R. Hill Sports Complex 15-9. ODU's Ashmore Standing scored five goals, while Emily Austerberry added four to lead ODU to their first win of the year.

William & Mary Players to Watch: Senior midfielder Taelor Salmon leads the Tribe with 24 goals and is tied for first on the team with 28 points on 45 shots. Senior defender Hannah Clarke leads all players with 32 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers. Junior attacker Ellen Shaffrey has 47 draw controls and is third on the team in scoring with 23 points. Tribe goaltenders Colleen Nofi (senior) and Meredith Crizer (sophomore) have split time this year as Nofi is 2-6 and Crizer is 1-6. Nofi has a slightly better goals against average with a 13.00 and a .355 save percentage.

Sister's Face Off: ODU's junior defender Kate Bermingham has an older sister, Maggie that plays for William & Mary. Maggie has started all 15 games this year for the Tribe and is a junior defender.

Scouting the Tribe: William & Mary arrives Saturday with a 3-12 record but with some momentum after knocking off Drexel by a 11-10 score in double overtime. Salmon scored three goals and junior midfielder Amanda Johnson also added three to help the Tribe win their first game since March 25.

Optima Health Challenge

Saturday's game is part of the Optima Health Challenge, which is a season long competition between W&M and ODU. Due to ODU and William & Mary not being able to make up a baseball game, William & Mary holds a 50-35 advantage in the matchup. The winner of Saturday's game receives ten points.
