NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University sailing competed in the 16th annual Aaron Szambecki Team Race this weekend and also at the MAISA/SAISA Race in Hampton.
Facing against seven of the top-eight teams in the country, the Monarchs hung tough, finishing in eight place. St. Mary's won the event by edging out No. 1 Yale.
ODU placed fifth at the MAISA/SAISA race in Hampton. The Division A team of Lee Dumaliang and Cady Johnson took sixth place. The duo earned five top five finishes while winning one race.
The Division B squad of Ethan Loundsbury and Kaylie Gallagher placed third. They delivered seven top-five finishes and also won a race.
