PINEHURST, NC—Old Dominion University Junior Jamison Randall(Cumberland, RI. ) fired a final round 73 to finish ninth and sophomore Ashton Newsom (Chesapeake, VA.) tied for 13th at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. As a team, the Monarchs placed sixth (314-306-302=922).
Randall had two birdies on the back nine to score 73 and finish the 54 holes at 225, while Newsom also had two birdies today on his way to carding a 77 and finish with a 227. Danny Pizetoski of Richmond captured the individual medalist title by three strokes after shooting 70 in today’s final round.
UNC Greensboro won the team title (302-289-302=893) by six strokes over second place Belmont. The Monarchs return to action March 15 and 16 at the Mission Inn Spring Invitational at Howey-In-The-Hills, FL.
