KENT, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced the preliminary seeds for the 2014 MAC Wrestling Championship on Sunday, March 9 on the campus of Kent State.
Old Dominion received two top seeds at 141 and 174 pounds- Chris Mecate and Billy Curling. Overall, ODU has six wrestlers in the top-4 and nine in the top-6 of the MAC Championship seeds.
The Monarchs hold two No. 3-seeds with 125 pounder- Brandon Jeske and 184-pounder Jack Dechow. No. 4-seeds include 149-pounder Alexander Richardson and 157-pounder Tristan Warner. ODU's Devin Geoghegan (165), Kevin Beazley (197) and Matt Tourdot (285) were ranked No. 6-seeds and Michael Hayes (133) is listed as a No. 8-seed.
The pre-seeds were voted on by the conference's coaches and rank the top nine wrestlers in each weight class.
