CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Old Dominion University football heads to North Carolina to take on the Tar Heels in the regular-season finale on Saturday at noon.
• Old Dominion heads to Chapel Hill for its final game of the 2013 season to take on North Carolina today at noon. The game will be broadcast on ACC RSN and picked up by ComCast SportsNet in the Hampton Roads area.
• The Monarchs are coming off a 42-14 victory over Campbell last Saturday to complete the first unbeaten home record in school history at 6-0.
• After the win over Campbell, Old Dominion is now a perfect 14-0 all-time in the month of November.
• Junior wide receivers Antonio Vaughan and Larry Pinkard had a field day in the win over Campbell, combining for 327 yards in the victory.
• Vaughan scorched the CU defense for 171-yards, the second highest total in school history and added three touchdowns, tying the record for most receiving scores in a game. Pinkard added 156-yards, the fourth most in school history.
• Taylor Heinicke was 40-of-56 for 533 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 20 yards and a TD. His 533 passing yards is the third most by an FBS quarterback this season and the second most in school history. Heinicke threw for a Division I record 730 yards last year against New Hampshire.
• Pinkard has surpassed his single-season career-highs in receptions and yards and his 972 yards is the second most by a receiver in a single season. Vaughan is one catch shy and 44-yards shy of surpassing his totals from a season ago.
• Taylor Heinicke completed 23-of-29 passes for 341 yards and three TD's in the win over Campbell. His three TD passes give him 101 for his career, making him just the 16th FBS QB ever to record more than 100 touchdown passes.
• Two weeks ago the Monarchs earned their first victory over an FBS team with their 59-38 win over Idaho. ODU is still looking for their first win over an ACC team. ODU lost to Maryland 47-10 in the second week of the season and fell at Pittsburgh, 35-24 a month ago. ODU got off to a 10-0 start at Pittsburgh but the Panthers scored 28-straight points and hung on for the 11 point win.
• ODU senior offensive lineman Jack Lowney started his 42nd straight game on the offensive line last week. Lowney has started the last 23-straight at left tackle. During his streak, he has started five games at righ guard and 13 at right tackle. Taylor Heinicke has the next highest start streak at 32 games.
• ODU is 46-13 under head coach Bobby Wilder, appearing in the FCS playoffs the only two years they were eligible for a postseason bid.
