NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion senior back Christy Longacre was named to the NFHCA Division I Senior Game, which is scheduled to take place this Saturday, November 23rd.
The ODU senior co-captain was one of just 38 senior players in the NCAA to be named to the game.
“Christy has had a tremendous career here at ODU,” Old Dominion coach Andrew Griffiths said. “She is a great competitor and has elite passing and tackling skills – I would rate her as highly as any center back in the NCAA. We will miss her prescence, and it’s a great honor for her to represent ODU at the Senior Game.”
Longacre was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year after helping the Lady Monarchs to become Big East Regular Season Champions and an at-large berth in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Longacre was named to the Big East All-Tournament team, All-Big East First Team and was a Big East Defensive Player of the Week.
Senior back Danielle Clutter was recently named to the NFHCA Senior Game as an alternate. Clutter was a Big East Honor Roll member and scored three game winning goals for ODU this season, including the overtime winner against North Carolina.
The Division I Senior Game will be played at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va. Game time is scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m.
