NORFOLK, Va. - After an impressive performance Sunday for the Old Dominion University field hockey team, junior forward Rosario Villagra was selected to the BIG EAST Honor Roll.
In this weekend's game against Georgetown, Villagra was able to tally three goals and score the opening goal for the second straight game to help lead ODU to a 7-0 win over Georgetown. This is the second straight week Villagra was named to the honor roll and is her third overall appearance this year.
After this weekends 3 goals, Villagra now has 7 goals on the season and leads the team in scoring with 22 points. Villagra also has a team high three game winning goals and has scored three goals in each of the past two games.
After starting the season against seven ranked teams, Old Dominion has rebounded and is on a four-game win streak. In those four games, the Lady Monarchs have outscored their opponents 19-2. ODU has not allowed a goal in over 171 minutes.
Chloe Hunnable of Connecticut was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while goalkeeper Shevaun Hayes of Rutgers was named Defensive Player of the Week. Joining Villagra on the honor roll were Elisa Garcia (Louisville), Daniella Bernasconi (Providence), Sydney King (Louisville) and Molly Doyle (Temple).

ODU travels to Philadelphia to face Big East opponents Villanova on Friday at 7 p.m. and Temple on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
