POWELLS POINT, NC—Three Old Dominion University golfers are in the top 14, and the Monarchs are tied for third just four strokes back of the lead after one round of the ODU/Outerbanks Collegiate which is being held at the Kilmarlic Golf Course.
Elon leads the 18-team tournament with a 286, three strokes ahead of Radford at 289, while ODU, Marshall and Hartford are four back at 290 with VCU and Maryland tied for sixth at 294.
ODU junior Jamison Randall (Cumberland, RI.) is tied for ninth, two behind Logan Lagodich of Marshall who shot two under 69. Monarch freshman David Langley (Buckinghamshire, England) and sophomore Seth Sweet (Madison, Maine) are tied for 14th with 72’s today, while Tim Ritter (Changilly, VA.) shot 73 and is tied for 22nd.
Langley along with John Somers of Elon and Will Betts of Hartford led the day with five birdies. Maryland's Connor Tendall, Drakes Brady Richardson, VCU's Adam Ball and Longwood's Clayton Forren led with 15 pars.
The second round will be played Monday and the final round on Tuesday. First tee time is 8:30 AM.
