MONARCH SPOTLIGHT
ODUSports.com and Monarch Media present a weekly Monarch Spotlight that gives fans a chance to learn more about their favorite student-athletes at Old Dominion. The latest installment of Monarch Spotlight narrows in on junior women’s field hockey player, Rosario Villagra.
Rosario is from Salta, Argentina and began her ODU career while seeing seven games as a freshman. She started all 21 games last season, where she was responsible for 34 points (second in the CAA) and has started all 13 games this season. Her offensive production took off against Towson last year when she scored two goals and added three assists. Villagra currently leads the team this year in scoring with 27 points and 9 assists. She also is second in the Big East with four game-winning goals, which has helped ODU to six consecutive wins and Villagra has been named to the Big East Honor Roll four times already this season!
The Lady Monarchs return to action Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. as they host William & Mary at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. Friday's game is a charity's game for pancreatic cancer.
