BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Old Dominion University women’s soccer teamand Florida Atlantic played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer on Sunday afternoon, as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
In the first 45 minutes of action, Old Dominion’s freshman keeper, Meredith Lenox, made three key saves to keep the score nodded at 0-0. At the half, the Owls held a slim advantage in shots (3-2) and corners (3-0).
In the second half of play, Florida Atlantic fired a total of eight shots off; however, the Lady Monarch’s defense managed to keep the Owls out of the scoring column. Lenox scooped up two more saves in the second 45 minutes, giving her five heading into the first overtime.
The Owls managed to keep the pressure up in the first overtime period, as they attempted three shots to the Lady Monarchs zero; however, all three FAU shots were off target.
It was Old Dominion who attempted the only two shots of the second overtime period, but neither Grace Haverly or Melanie Oakes could find the back of the net.
For the game, Jessie Klamut led ODU in shots with two. Lenox made five saves on Sunday afternoon, giving the freshman her second clean sheet in the net this season.
Kayla Faulkner led the attack for FAU, as she took 4 of the Owl’s 14 shots. Florida Atlantic now moves to 2-8-4 overall and 0-2-3 in C-USA play, while Old Dominion is now 1-9-2 on the season and 1-3-1 in the conference.

The Lady Monarchs will return to their home pitch this Friday, October 18, when they will host Middle Tennessee at 7 p.m. Old Dominion will remain at the ODU Soccer Complex on Sunday, October 20, for a matchup with UAB.
