Lady Monarchs Visit No. 9 Duke Sunday

DURHAM, NC. -- The No. 15 ranked Lady Monarchs field hockey team (1-4) travels to Durham on Sunday to play No. 9 Duke (4-1) at the Jack Katz Stadium.

Old Dominion has lost their previous three games to the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 ranked opponents. ODU looks to continue the progress Head Coach Andrew Griffiths mentioned the team made in the second half of yesterday's 3-0 loss to No. 1 UNC. ODU sophomore goalkeeper Megan Hept has made 22 saves in the last three games.

Duke began their weekend by surviving William & Mary 2-1. Blue Devil senior forward McKay Ross scored in the 62nd minute to give Duke the win. Duke sophomore goalkeepepr Lauren Blazing currently is 3rd in the ACC with a 1.14 goals against average.

Series Record: ODU leads 24-13

Last Meeting: Oct. 14, 2012 - Sarah Breen and Nicole Goff each scored a goal for ODU to help  lift the Lady Monarchs to a 3-2 win in Norfolk.
