NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University football completed their ninth day of practice Wednesday morning at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex Practice Field.

ODUSports.com is taking a closer look at this year’s team. Today we take a look at redshirt freshman, Terrell Reid.

When did you start playing football?  When I was five I started playing Pop Warner.  My uncle and mother got me involved.  They saw I was athletic and wanted me to test the waters with football.

Did you play any other sports growing up?  I did it all.  Played some baseball, basketball, track and field and soccer.

What’s it like growing up in Washington, D.C.? It’s livelier than Norfolk.  It is a fun place to be.  The museums, monuments, all the historic stuff.  I can see some of the monuments from where I grew up.

Why Old Dominion?  It was my first offer.  They talked to me throughout the entire process, and I wanted to be loyal.  It’s also known for its good academics and that was a big factor.

Talk about the move to Conference USA and FBS? It’s very exciting.  Growing up, everyone wants to play at the top level and now we get to compete with the top teams in the nation.

You came to ODU as a linebacker and have switched to defensive end, what has the change been like? A lot of it was because of depth.  The coaches knew I could play there.  The transition has been okay; the biggest difference is the size and skill of the offensive linemen.

Favorite Movie? Old School

Favorite Food? Macaroni and Cheese

Favorite Restaurant? Houston’s in Washington, D.C.

What’s on your iPod?  I listen to hip hop, rap and Go-Go

Dream Vacation? Costa Rica

Favorite part of the Hampton Roads area? I like the downtown area.  It reminds me of back home.

The defensive line has a new position coach (Jeff Comissiong), how have you acclimated to that, especially coming from a different position? He brings a lot of excitement.  He is very patient; he works with us a lot on new drills and moves.

What is your major?  Computer science.  I would like to work with a computer software firm.
