NORFOLK, VA (October 2) - The defending national champion Old Dominion fieldhockey team toppled St. Joseph's, 12-1, Sunday afternoon at Old DominionUniversity's Foreman Field. The #6 Lady Monarchs improve to 9-3 overall(4-0 CAA) while the Hawks fall to 7-2 overall (0-0 America East).
Old Dominion received offensive output from seven different players onthe afternoon with junior Marina DiGiacomo (Mendoza, Argentina) collectingfour goals. Freshmen Tiffany Snow (Escondido, Calif.), Marjolijn van derSommen (Leiden, Netherlands), and Tara Herrmann (Perkasie, Pa.) all chippedin with two goals each.
The Lady Monarchs will take to the road this weekend for two games atConnecticut. Old Dominion will play UConn Saturday and New HampshireSunday.
