PINEHURST, NC-- ODU senior Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) tallied 149 for 36 holes and is tied for sixth place at the 15th annual Pinehurst Women's Challenge at the No. 6 course. As a team, the Lady Monarchs are third, just eight strokes behind tournament leader Richmond.
ODU shot 602 for the first two rounds, only five strokes back of second placeCollege of Charleston, and one stroke ahead of fourth place Rollins.
Lady Monarch freshman Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England) and junior Gemma Fuster (Barcelona, Spain) are tied for 22nd at 152.
Caroline Lovett of Richmond shot 147, leading Morrell by just two strokes withHindmoor only three strokes back. The final round is Tuesday.
