NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's tennis dropped a tough match to UNC Wilmington, Thursday evening at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center.
The Monarchs dropped a close doubles point to the Seahawks, falling in a pair hard-fought matches at No. 2 and No. 3. Nikol Hristova and Diana Ivanova cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 1 but fell 8-6 at No. 2 doubles. Ivanova Vukovic and Nika Khmolovska fell 9-8 at No. 3 and held an 8-7 lead and was up love-40 before falling in a tiebreaker.
Diana Ivanova got ODU on the board with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 2 singles while Melissa Esnal Olguin was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at No. 6.
ODU is back in action on Saturday when they host Delaware
