NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University men's tennis finished off an unbeaten weekend with a 6-1 victory over Navy Sunday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center.
With the win, ODU improves to 7-3 while Navy falls to 5-4 with the loss.
The Monarchs earned the doubles point with a pair of wins as No. 30 Carlos Lopez Villa and Can Cetinel cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 1 while Jonas Kuwert gutted out an 8-6 win at No. 2.
Ranked No. 112 in the country in singles, Lopez Villa stayed undefeated on the year at 10-0 with an 6-1, 6-2 win over Calvin Mark. Albert Ochagavia followed suit with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Peter McDonald at No. 2.
Zvonimir Podvinksi earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 while Kuwert was a 6-2, 7-6 winner at No. 5.
