MONARCH SPOTLIGHT
NORFOLK, Va. - Beginning in the fall of 2012, ODUSports.com and Monarch Media will present a weekly Monarch Spotlight that gives fans a chance to learn more about their favorite student-athletes at Old Dominion.
Kimberley Rashleigh has been nothing short of excellent for the Lady Monarchs this season. Last weekend, she won the 200 yard IM race with a time of 2:06.25. Rashleigh also took first in the 100 yard backstroke (57.53) and placed second in the 200 yard backstroke.
Two weeks ago at the Nike Cup in Chapel Hill, N.C., Rashleigh was part of another record breaking performance. Rashleigh won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.53. She set a school record in the 200 freestyle when she swam the first leg of the 800 yard freestyle relay in 1:49.62. Rashleigh also posted a time of 2:01 in the 200 IM final that qualified her to be eligible for the NCAA Championship in March. Rashleigh finished her weekend by winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:14.26 on the second day of competition. Her times in the 200 free, 400 IM and 200 IM were the fastest times recorded in the CAA this season.
Old Dominion's next competition is on Jan. 12 when ODU will take on UMBC in Baltimore, Md.
