NORFOLK, Va. - The ColonialAthletic Association announced today that Old Dominion University's Kimberley Rashleigh has been named the CAA Swimmer of the Week. This is the second time in three weeks that Rashleigh has won this award.

The Lady Monarchs are coming off a split weekend after crushing George Washington (198-84) and losing to Rutgers (170-120). Kimberley Rashleigh continued her recent success in the water by setting a new J.C. "Scrap" Chandler Pool record in her victory in the 200 yard IM race with a time of 2:06.25. Rashleigh also took first in the 100 yard backstroke (57.53) and placed second in the 200 yard backstroke. In the 200 yard medley relay, Rashleigh along with Amber Wingfield, Jessica Hubert, and Savannah Bowers finished in third.

Two weeks ago at the Nike Cup in Chapel Hill, N.C., Rashleigh was part of another record breaking performance. Rashleigh won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.53. She set a school record in the 200 freestyle when she swam the first leg of the 800 yard freestyle relay in 1:49.62. Rashleigh also posted a time of 2:01 in the 200 IM final that qualified her to be eligible for the NCAA Championship in March. Rashleigh finished her weekend by winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:14.26 on the second day of competition. Her times in the 200 free, 400 IM and 200 IM were the fastest times recorded in the CAA this season.

Old Dominion's next competition isn't until Jan. 12 when ODU will take on UMBC in Baltimore, Md.
