NORFOLK, Va. - Former Old Dominion University standout Deron Mayo finished his first season in the Canadian Football League, helping the Calgary Stampeders to the Gray Cup while Ronnie Cameron has been activated to the Cleveland Browns 53 man roster.
Mayo finished his first season with the Stampeders making nine tackles on defense and adding 15 tackles on special teams. He also recorded a sack while on defense. The Stamps' finished the season with a 12-6 mark in the regular-season and advanced all the way to the Gray Cup, before falling to Toronto, 35-22.
Cameron earned a promotion to the Browns' 53-man roster four weeks ago and was activated for the 45-man roster that week against the Baltimore Ravens but did not play.
Thomas DeMarco finished his first season in the CFL as well, playing for the BC Lions. He completed 9-of-13 passes for 91 yards. The Lions finished in first place in their division with a 13-5 record.
