CLEVELAND, Ohio - Former Old Dominion University football defensive lineman Ronnie Cameron has been promoted to the Cleveland Browns active roster, the team announced on Friday.
Cameron joined the Browns on August 14 after being waived by the Chicago Bears, but did not make the final cut. He was signed to Cleveland's practice squad the next day.
Cameron was a two-year starter for the Monarchs, finishing second on the squad last year with 73 tackles and leading the team with 17 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
He earned six different All-America distinctions last season and was also named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year.
The Browns host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at 1 p.m.
