WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Old Dominion University women's soccer dropped its final match of the year on Wednesday, falling at William and Mary 3-0.
ODU finishes the year with a 4-14 overall mark and 2-8 in the CAA while the Tribe finish the regular-season with a 14-5 mark and 8-2 conference record.
William and Mary got on the board in the 33rd minute when Ali Heck sent in a cross that Emory Camper knocked in the goal to give the Tribe a 1-0 lead that they would take into halftime.
In the 62nd minute Dani Rutter scored the first of two goals on the night, as she gathered a shot that was saved by Cortlyn Bristol into the goal for a 2-0 Tribe lead.
William and Mary got its final goal of the night when Mallory Shaffer sent a through ball to Rutter who scored again for the final 3-0 tally.
Ashlee Coutu and Amber Cook fired shot for the Lady Monarchs while Bristol had seven shots for W&M.
Laura Bush started in goal for ODU and made one save and Brianna Alvarado played the second half making six stops.
The game was part of the Optima Health challenge between the two schools with William and Mary earning 10 points.
