TULSA, Okla. - Old Dominion University men's tennis' Carlos Lopez Villa and Albert Ochagavia had a solid start this weekend at the ITA All-American Tournament in Tulsa.
Lopez Villa went 2-0 on the day while Ochagavia opened with a bye and won his match of the day. The duo continues play tomorrow morning.
Lopez Villa started his day with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory over Parker Allen of Oral Roberts. In the second round, he won a tough three-setter over Jordan Angus of Mississippi State, 6-2, 5-7, 7-5. Lopez Villa was down 4-2 in the third set but battled back for the victory.
Lopez Villa takes on Johan Backstrom of Ole Miss tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. EST.
Ochagavia received a bye into the second round where he knocked off Zach Wilder of Ole Miss, 6-3, 6-3.
Ochagavia will face Tyler Brown of Texas-San Antonio at 10 a.m. EST tomorrow.
