Haycock Takes Individual Title As ODU Finishes Second At Towson

PHOENIX, MD-- ODU junior Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England ) captured medalist honors at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational after shooting 75 in both first and second rounds. As a team, ODU finished second, five strokes behind St. John's.

Haycock and Harrin Lee of St. John's tied for the individual lead, but Haycock took home first-place hardware based on the tiebreaker. Last year, Haycock earned first team All-Conference honors after winning the Hoya Invitational, a second at Pinehurst and a fourth at the CAA Championships.

Kimberley Bradbury (DerbyShire, England) tied for eighth with a 154 after shooting76 in the final round, while senior Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) shot 75today to finish tied for 12th at 156. Junior Gemme Fuster (Barcelona, Spain) tied for 17th at 157.

The Lady Monarchs shot 312 in the first round, then a tournament best 304 today tofinish at 616,while St. John's shot 305 and 306 for a 611 total.

The Lady Monarchs return to action, Sept. 28-30 at the Nittany Lion Invitational.
