NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's soccer continues their road stint on Sunday at Hartford with a 2 p.m. start.
ODU is 1-1 on the year with a season opening 2-0 win over NC State and a 1-0 setback at East Carolina. Hartford plays their first game of the season tonight against Fairleigh Dickinson.
Taylor Mertz leads ODU with a goal and an assist and is the reigning CAA Player of the Week while Ashlee Coutu also has a goal. Brianna Alvarado has started both games in goals, posting a 0.50 goals against average while making 10 saves.
Hartford finished last season with a 13-2-3 record. The Hawks started the year 13-0-3 before ending the year with two-straight losses.
Caitlin Alves led Hartford with 10 goals and five assists a year ago while Ameila Pereira finished with seven goals and seven assists. Erin Quinlan recorded a 0.38 GAA with 96 saves and posting 12 shutouts.
Last year the two teams opened the season with a 1-1 tie in Norfolk.
ODU wraps up their road swing on Friday, Aug. 31 at Radford.
