PITTSBURGH - Former ODU golfing standout Joe Daley (ODU '83) won the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship on Sunday for his first Champions Tour title, closing with a 2-under 68 for a two-stroke victory over Tom Lehman, after nailing a 15-foot putt on the final hole for his tournament high 24th birdie. This is one of the fourmajors on the tour.

The 51-year-old Daley, had a 14-under 266 total at Fox Chapel. He earned $405,000 and full Champions Tour status for a calendar year. Lehman finished with a 69. Daley's best finish on the PGA tour was 12th at the 1999 Greater Hartford Open. He also won two events on the Web.com tour.

Olin Browne was third at 11 under after a 65. Mark Calcavecchia, tied with Daley for the third-round lead, had a 72 to match 2011 winner Fred Couples at 10 under. Couples finished with a 71.

In 1983, as a senior, Daley finished fifth at the Sun Belt Conference Championships to earn All-League honors to help lead ODU to a second place in the Sun Belt Championships that year, losing to South Florida in a playoff. Daly also won three spring tournament events and posted a 76.0 stroke average that season. He graduated from ODU in 1983 with a degree in finance. He currently resides in Scottsdale, AZ.
