RICHMOND, VA-- Five players scored in double figures led by All-CAA guard Kent Bazemore with 24 as ODU defeated Delaware in a CAA quarterfinal contest, 88-74at the Richmond Coliseum. This is the fourth straight 20-plus win season forthe Monarchs under head coach Blaine Taylor and seventh in the last eight years.

The two-time defending CAA Champion Monarchs will meet Drexel Sunday at 2 p.m. in a semifinal game as ODU scored the most points by a UD opponent since Jan. 19 and advanced to the semifinals for the fourth consecutive year.

Joining Bazemore were Donte Hill with a career high tying 15, Chris Cooper with 13, Nick Wright with12 and Dimitri Batten with 10.

ODU led, 47-42 at halftime, shooting .486 from the floor and the Monarchs shotthe exact same thing in the second. The Monarchs also dominated the boards, 44-32as Bazemore led with nine, followed by Chris Cooper with eight and Batten with six.

The 88 points is a season best with the previous season high was in the overtime game against Richmond.

The first half saw eight ties, the last at 2:24 with the score 39-39. Donte Hillthen scored and a minute later Kent Bazemore came down on the break and hit athree to put ODU up 44-40 with 1:20 left in the half. UD's Devon Saddler scoredon a layup, but Bazemore came back and hit a driving shot was fouled then hitthe free throw to put ODU up 47-42 going into halftime.

In the second half, ODU jumped out to a 14 point lead at 60-46 with 14:01 on a jumper by Chris Cooper. The Monarchs would later build the lead to 18, 78-60after a Marquel De Lancey break a way dunk with 7:21 left in the game. The closestDelaware could get was 12 at 84-72 with 1:37 left. Chris Cooper scored 12 of his13 points in the second half.

Delaware was led by Devon Saddler with 24 points, followed by Jamelle Hagins with 12points and 15 rebounds. The Fightin Blue Hens shot .473 From the floor and turnedthe ball over 11 times, while ODU committed only seven turnovers.

ODU has committed 10 turnovers or less the last five games in a row. Three Monarchs, Hill, De Lancey and Bazemore led with four assists. Donte Hill shot 7-of-12 from the floor, while Cooper was 6-for-9.
